Events:

There are still a number of events left this year. Check the calendar for details. If you know of anyone who you feel deserves an award (given out at the Christmas party) please let your instructor know.
Awards are:

• Dedication
• Newcomer
• Outstanding Black Belt Award

We are at the planning stages for next year's events list which has lots of new courses. If you have any particular interests please let us know now.

Our fighting standards are extremely high - we are always looking out for new tournaments to enter. Our fight coaches are:

• Flo

They are available to offer advice and support for all tournaments within and external to the association so please use their expertise.

Attendance:

Our overheads are increasing quite considerably - we are doing all we can to keep costs down - any classes that have consistently poor attendance will unfortunately have to be closed.

Referees:

Any students taking part in the referees' course will need to gain real experience at our tournament - certificates will be issued after completing the written quiz, points and continuous practice in class and having a go at the tournament.

Health and Safety:

We do not tolerate idiots who feel that they need to boost their own ego by hitting too hard during sparring. We all have to go to work /school the next day and we all want to be fit to train at the next class, so please make the effort to look after your training partners.

White Lotus is a friendly association with students who look after and have respect for one another.

New Students:

All students are welcome to attend any courses and events - you will not be out of place or left behind - new students are very important to the association.

Standards:

A huge improvement - due mainly to the Wednesday classes - well done. A huge congratulations to Vicky Lee for gaining her Third Dan - good luck at university - I remember a very young Vicky at one of our first classes - pop in and see us when you can!

Keep us Informed:

There are a lot of students in White Lotus and instructors need to be aware of injuries, illnesses allergies, etc. These conditions are always changing so please keep us up to date with important medical issues.

Charity of the Year:

Our charity of the year for 2009 will be the air ambulance - if you have any unwanted gifts etc. - could you please pass them onto Lyn Spares, or your instructor for our tournament raffle.
